Interlocking Rings Wedding Painting, Two Rings, One Heart — Commission Example.

This interlocking rings wedding painting features two gold wedding bands interlocking and framing the bride and groom — the couple drawn together, eyes only for each other, the date of their union engraved on the ring itself. This stylized composition moves beyond a traditional portrait, building the symbols of marriage directly into the design.

Every element — the rings, the engraved date, the couple at the center — is customized to your commission. This is wedding portraiture as keepsake art.

ARTIST’S PROCESS:

Two Rings, One Heart was painted in Procreate on a 13″ iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil Pro. As with every piece this one starts with a detailed sketch. Under the sketch a new layer is created for color blocking. Each element in the composition is set with a base color, also called underpainting,  on its own layer. Additional layers are created above each color blocked base to begin painting the details starting with shadowing, highlights and detail work. The gold bands required reflective gradient work and highlight passes to achieve convincing metallic sheen, with the engraved date integrated with shadow work to read as physically inscribed. The dark navy background draws focus inward to the couple and outward to the rings. This stylized commemorative format is a distinct commission option from the standard portrait.

CHALLENGE:

To place the bride and groom inside of the wedding bands the rings and couple were built on separate canvases. Procreate’s Copy Canvas feature was used to transfer the figures onto the ring composition, with transparency applied to remove figure sections outside the ring boundary. Opacity was then restored and all layers merged into the final unified image — a precise multi-canvas workflow not required by any other piece in the gallery.
