Two gold wedding bands frame the moment — the couple drawn together, eyes only for each other, the date of their union engraved on the ring itself. This stylized composition goes beyond a traditional portrait, building the symbols of marriage directly into the design. Every element — the rings, the engraved date, the couple at the center — is customized to the commission. This is wedding portraiture as keepsake art.

Artist’s Process:

Created entirely in Procreate on a 13″ iPad Pro M5 with an Apple Pencil Pro, with the portrait figures developed separately and transferred into the ring composition using Procreate’s Copy Canvas feature. The gold bands required reflective gradient work and highlight passes to achieve convincing metallic sheen, with the engraved date integrated with shadow work to read as physically inscribed. The dark navy background draws focus inward to the couple and outward to the rings. This stylized commemorative format is a distinct commission option from the standard portrait.

Challenge: The rings and couple were built on separate canvases. Procreate’s Copy Canvas feature was used to transfer the figures onto the ring composition, with transparency applied to remove figure sections outside the ring boundary. Opacity was then restored and all layers merged into the final unified image — a precise multi-canvas workflow not required by any other piece in the gallery.
