ARTIST’S PROCESS: 

A Quiet Moment was painted in Procreate on a 13″ iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil Pro, built from a structural drawing through layered color blocking in warm earth tones. Special attention went into the skin’s luminosity — rendering age with accuracy and respect — and hair painted strand by strand to contrast her soft expression.

CHALLENGE:

The greatest challenge was rendering aged skin with both anatomical accuracy and emotional dignity — capturing decades of lived experience without tipping into caricature. Layered warm mid-tones and deliberate shadow work achieve a luminous quality that honors the subject rather than simply documenting age.
