Peruvian Lily
This Peruvian lily painting presents two clusters of orange alstroemeria rising against a deep forest-green ground, their streaked inner petals and upturned stamens rendered in fine detail. Native to South America, alstroemeria is prized by gardeners and florists for its long vase life and wide color range. Despite its common name, it is not a true lily; it belongs to its own family, Alstroemeriaceae. Peruvian Lily is a companion to Summer Garden Dahlia and Tropical Hibiscus, Jennie Lynn, completing a trio of dark-ground botanicals.
