ARTIST’S PROCESS: Undaunted was painted in Procreate on a 13″ iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil Pro, through layered digital brushwork across skin, hair, and fabric detail. The green draped background was rendered with fold, sheen, and shadow — its movement referencing classical portrait backdrops while creating color harmony with the royal blue top. The flowing fabric adds life and environment to the composed stillness of the subject. Amber eye rendering with natural catchlight carries the quiet determination of the title.

CHALLENGE: Dual fabric rendering — the green draped background and royal blue top required distinctly different fabric treatments in the same piece. The background drape needed visible fold structure and sheen suggesting heavy fabric, while the blue top required a softer drape and lighter sheen — each textile reading as a different material.
