ARTIST’S PROCESS: Madam Jaclyn Meownay was painted in Procreate on a 13″ iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil Pro. The portrait began with structural drawing to establish her facial proportions and expression, followed by color blocking to map the complex interplay of black, orange, and tan across her tabby-calico coat. Fine detail work brought out the individual strokes of fur direction and the striking clarity of her green eyes, with a softly patterned botanical background chosen to complement her warm coloring without competing with her expression.

CHALLENGE: Jackie’s coat combines three colors in an active tabby striping pattern across her face, which risked competing with her eyes for visual attention. The challenge was rendering the tabby markings with enough individual detail to read as authentic fur, while keeping value and contrast controlled enough that her striking green eyes remained the clear focal point rather than getting lost in the coat’s complexity.
