About Me
I’m Sharon, the artist and creator behind Shadowmyst Art, based on Long Island, New York — where the ocean, wildlife, and changing seasons have shaped my artistic eye for decades.
My path to digital art is anything but ordinary. I’m a retired nurse, a certified teacher in art, elementary, and business education, a graphic designer, and a web developer — with degrees in Art & Education, Education and Educational Computing, and Accounting. That blend of science, education, and creativity lives in every piece I create.
Today I work primarily in Procreate on my iPad Pro, with Photoshop in my toolkit when needed. My portraits — expressive, textured, and deeply personal — draw from my own photography, client-provided images, and a lifelong love of nature. I’m also an active birder and citizen scientist with Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and that same patient, observant eye I bring to the field comes through in my art.
I create for commissions, custom requests, and the pure joy of learning something new every day.
